This section is for all the hardworking bands and artist that just want to know of a good source for many of the things they need or want. Each of the below companies and people offer the best service and price that we know of, and we don’t make a dime on the referral. If you have a service that you want listed, just pop us an e-mail and we will consider it for future updates.

Orbit Audio - Joe Reineke

There is NOTHING like recording in a pro studio, with a pro engineer and producer, in a comfortable environment. Most of the time that cost a fortune, but Joe and his studio are all this possible for $35 an hour for any band who says they saw the deal on Shedboyz.  The studio is first class, with some of the best gear in the world, a comfortable lounge, and most importantly, one of the best producers in the US.  Joe makes sure that in a session, you will not only come out with GREAT sounding stuff, digital or analog, but also provide an education in everything from arranging to how your gear REALLY can sound.  Contact Joe at orbitaudio@aol.com to book your time.  He tells me that now until August 05 is the only time he might be available for the rest of the year, so even if its for a song or 2...do yourself a favor, and take the opportunity to work in a studio that has produced dozens of recordings. Clients have included The Divorce and Duff from Velvet Revolver. You will need about $350 per song, but it is a great experience.

CD covers, hand-drawen graphics and  posters

Len Enders is well knowen in Port Townsend for creating most of the cool show posters you see for Legion Hall shows and for CD Covers for Libido, and his own projects, Circle of Fear, and Stardustsuperkill. Len has expressed that he will do Posters for $50 and CD graphics for $100. The work is amazing and you won’t be disapointed.  Contact him at len@stardustsuperkill.com for some of the best hand drawen graphics in the world.

Custom Printed T-shirts

Carson has a line on local shirts that are VERY reasonable, and he is a great artist.

Badd Habit is a local company, and we here their work is good, but the price is high. Don’t take our word for it.

Another source is...

OK.  Here is the strait skinny.  We love companies that treat the customer right, and we had three successful orders of our own that looked great and were WAY affordable from a Portland OR company called FISHEAD.  The shirts are top quality, and so is the printing.   THEY WILL GIVE 5% OFF THEIR ALREADY GREAT PRICES TO ANY SHEDBOYZ VISITOR. All you have to do is call Jen toll free 1.877.659.2780, and tell them when you place your order that “kit sent me” and ask for the 5% off

They have all their prices on the site which means you don’t have to talk to anyone to get answers.  Check them out at www.fishead.net for easy on line pricing and ordering (none of those stupid submit and wait things)  Here is an example of FISHEAD’s great pricing.  Their customer service is the best in the industry!

Sound & Lighting

  • Dan DeMay from Spun Loud Records has a PA, and has done Legion Hall and Community Center shows. He is affordable, bringing out a board, speakers, mics and stands and him or super-tech Dakotah runs it all for $200.  Not only will your show sound better, but it’s one more thing you know will be taken care of.
  • Lights can add a cool dimension to your show.  DJ Style E and Zero have an automated lighting system that they will bring out, set up, and run for $75-100. Well worth it if you consider that he will also (f you ask him real nice) bring out his DJ rig and perform on the show, or keep the crowd entertained between bands with his cool beats.  Contact him at immanuelgreen@hotmail.com

CD Duplication

There are a TON of CD Duplicators out there.   The ones that I think are cool are:

  • www.nationwidecd.com - Quick Turn-arounds...Good folks even if they are in Texas.
  • www.cdman.com - Really good product.  Lot’s of extra charges if you don’t watch out, so have your artwork to spec.  Very cool “Fan” Clear CD’s if you want to get creative.  Canada based company.

Web sites

There are many free web hots and sites out there that bands use. www.myspace.com being one of the bigger/better ones.  These services are great, as they let just about anyone post a basic good looking site that has a bunch of features for little or no money, but if you want to have a real site with e-mail capabilities, shopping carts, and a way pro look...then here is how to get real.

  • www.rockbandsites.com - To be fair...I partner with these guys on some things, namely our pro itineraries for bands.  They do a TON of band sites from Ray Charles to The Gosling.  Why?  Because they are great designers, know how to get your band seen by robots and search engines, and provide a cool interface to update your own site from any computer with little skill.  Prices start at $30 a month after the initial design, but the service is great.  CO-owner Ira plays in Common Heroes
