OK, here is what’s up. We decided to do this page because we see other towns doing it, and thought it was a shame that Port Townsend as “music oriented” as we like to think of ourselves, didn’t have such a resource. We also see an emergence of a music scene that is larger, more diversified, and more active than ever before, and are believers that documenting our scene in this site will help improve everyone’s chances of developing a music scene that fans, bands, promoters, stores, and festivals can all participate in and enjoy. It is open to ANY band or musician in Jefferson County. Rock, Folk, Blues, Punk, Funk, Spoken Word, Techno, House, Rap, Classical, Whatever...bring it on. Here are the rules. We will (as we have time) catalog your band weather you like it or not. If you are a Port Townsend or Jefferson County musician, don’t be surprised to see your information on this site. If you are an artist wanting to be on this site, or if you already have something that we have included, but want to add to it, you can send us an e-mail with JPEG 72 DPI photos and graphics ONLY. Please do not zip or stuff them, and keep them under 2 megs. You can also send in bios, press, and other information and we will add your info, once more, when we have time. One way or the other, we are not going to take for granted that anyone will contribute to this effort, but if you want to support this site the best way is to give us content. It only promotes your band. Advertising. We have none, although being involved in the scene ourselves, you will see our concerns listed just like any other event or band on the site. There are many ways to get your message out on this site. We suggest the Message Board as being the first place you should got to post a message about gigs, or other ways to get out your services. |
